Posted by admin the 26 Aug 2011 in Anti-aging supplement • No commentsSyphilis is caused by a bacterium called Treponema pallidum, and classified as a sexually transmitted disease.
It is usually transferred through sexual contact or even a mother to her fetus in the womb. Ignoring symptoms can lead to serious consequences that are irresistible by the body, such as nerves and brain tissue damage.
It can be caused easily when a person comes into contact with lesions visible on the body of an infected person during vaginal sex, anal or oral. It is said that men are more susceptible to syphilis than women.
It comes during the age of 15 – 39 years for men and women. Treponema pallidum bacteria are spiral in nature, and are 6 to 15 micrometers long and 0,25 micrometers in diameter. Bacteria can not survive too long in conditions outside (air) and requires to be in direct contact with infectious lesions.
These bacteria move rapidly through the mucous membranes after penetrating the skin, at the same time spread into the bloodstream and lymphatic system. It can be viewed by dark field microscopy, given its small size. Symptoms of syphilis in women can be detected at an early stage, knowing how to decipher the symptoms is your first step in treating the disease
.Syphilis develops
in four stages and each stage is characterized by symptoms of different game to help identify the presence of the disease in the body. The first step was also known as the primary stage of syphilis usually begins with the appearance of a canker sore called. Canker develops on the skin that was initially exposed to infection. The enlargement of the lymph nodes in the groin can also occur indicating the presence of the disease. In women, cankers may occur on the genitalia or on the inside of the vagina. However there is a high probability that canker is not recognized if it occurs inside the vagina or the opening of the uterus. Canker, however, resolves spontaneously in 4 to 6 weeks without treatment. The disappearance of the chancre does not mark the end of the disease, it aggravates rather than the disease. In the meantime, the bacteria spread through the body and allow the advance to the second stage of the disease.
Syphilis
Symptoms of secondary phase typically include a skin rash, fever, sore throat, weight loss, loss of appetite, patchy hair loss, swollen lymph nodes and a general ill feeling. Rash develops on the body usually the palms and soles of the feet, indicating the spread of the bacteria in the body. A person is contagious during the second stage of syphilis. Symptoms of syphilis in the secondary stage also disappear in a few weeks or months, but the disease continues to persist even with the disappearance of major symptoms such as rash.
Secondary syphilis
if not treated quickly, can result in latent syphilis. The latent stage of syphilis lasts for a long period of time usually years. Although there are no symptoms of syphilis marked in this stage, a person in the latent stage of syphilis is still infected. During the lag phase, a woman can transfer syphilis to her fetus during pregnancy.
The final stage of syphilis, also called tertiary syphilis, is the most harmful. During this stage of the internal organs were damaged. Tertiary syphilis affecting the central nervous system leading to dementia, memory loss, poor vision, numbness, paralysis, and poor muscle movement. Frequent headaches, fever, of non-healing skin ulcers, bone pain, liver disease and anemia are some of the symptoms of syphilis in the tertiary stage. At this stage, the damage could be so severe that it can even cause death.
